Aprender y Crecer (Learning & Growing) is a program of Price Charities, a private nonprofit foundation based in San Diego, California. The Price family firmly believes that supporting education and investing in our youth are fundamental for economic and social development.

The mission of Aprender y Crecer is to improve educational and life opportunities for students by forming partnerships with public elementary schools where we provide school supplies and materials so that principals, teachers, parents and students can focus on quality teaching and learning.

Supporting more than 27,000 students at 57 schools in Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama and the Dominican Republic, Aprender y Crecer donates school supplies for the each student, classroom materials for each teacher, educational materials for the school as well as cleaning and hygiene products. In exchange, the students, parents and teaching and administrative staff commit to achieving five critical goals:

• Improve student engagement;
• Increase parent participation;
• Improve teaching methods through collaboration and sharing best practices;
• Maintain a clean and safe school environment; and
• Increase the principals’ ability to lead their schools.
