As we informed you recently, Igloo Products Corp. is conducting a safety program for its Flip & Tow 90-quart (85 liters) rolling coolers manufactured before January 2024 due to a pinching risk in the tow handle, which can cause finger injuries.
You are receiving this notice because our records indicate that you purchased a possibly affected cooler.
We want to inform you about this program and let you know that PriceSmart will accept the return of the affected product for a full refund or a replacement with a newer model.
You must stop using it immediately and check if it is included in this safety program. If so, register with Igloo Products Corp. to receive a free replacement handle.
To verify, check the manufacturing date in the date code located at the bottom of the cooler. This program applies only to Flip & Tow 90-quart (85 liter) rolling coolers manufactured before January 2024.
The date code is a circular pattern with an arrow pointing to the manufacturing month and the last two digits of the year inside the inner circle.
The date code in the example image is October 2023. The arrow pointing to "10" represents October, and the number "23" represents 2023.
When handling the cooler to inspect the date code, avoid the pinch points.
Your cooler is subject to this safety program if the date code is December 2023 or earlier. If the date code is January 2024 or later, your cooler is not affected, and you do not need to take any further action—you can continue using it safely.
To process the return to PriceSmart, bring the affected cooler to your preferred Club and visit the Member Services counter. Our team will be happy to assist you throughout the process.

PriceSmart informs that due to lasting unfavorable weather conditions in areas where olive oil is harvested, production volumes have decreased significantly. Aviso importante sobre retiro de producto Tide PODS
Dear PriceSmart Member,
PriceSmart records indicate that you, or one of your cardholders, have purchased Tide PODS since October 1st, 2023.
We recently noticed a defect in a subset of laundry PODs packaging bags that do not fully close. This issue only impacts some packages and is not an issue with the quality of the product inside the bag. To verify if your product has been impacted, refer to the chart of impacted lot codes. The lot code can be found on the box or individual bag, as indicated by the yellow box in the images below.

PriceSmart Informs about a Product Recall
On February 12, 2024, Fratelli Beretta USA, Inc. issued a recall for Item # 479066, “Beretta Antipasto Tray 12” with expiration dates of, or prior to, June 30, 2024, which may have been contaminated with foodborne pathogens.
The recalled product was sold in PriceSmart between January 1, 2024, to February 13, 2024.
Members who have purchased any affected products should return it to the nearest PriceSmart Club for a full refund.

PriceSmart Informs a Recall over Some Quaker Products
PriceSmart informs that The Quaker Oats Company has recalled over 40 varieties of granola bars and cereals because they may be contaminated with salmonella, a bacterium that can cause deadly infections in older adults and people with weakened immune systems.
Quaker recommends consumers to check their pantries for any of the recalled products listed in the official statement and throw them away.
To date, there have been no reports of illness associated with this recall.

Please find below the official statement issued today by the Republic Bank:
Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, October 20, 2023 – Republic Bank recognises that technical challenges recently experienced with the Bank’s credit card processing system has had an unintended, negative impact on several local customers as well as a subset of our credit card merchants, including our valued partner, PriceSmart Trinidad. The Bank wishes to assure all affected cardholders that this unfortunate outcome was not as a result of any activities carried out by any of our merchants.
During the period August 14 to September 6, 2023, credit card holders of our local banking network who used their cards at this group of merchants were impacted due to their card transactions inadvertently being processed as USD transactions instead of TT dollar transactions. In a media release provided on October 17, 2023, the Bank assured the public that this issue had been rectified and that it was working closely with the local banks to ensure that all legitimately affected customers are reimbursed.
Nigel Baptiste, President and Managing Director, Republic Bank shared “While it is understandable that impacted customers are concerned about this development, the level of negative sentiment directed towards PriceSmart is regrettable since the matter was not of their making. We once again want to reassure the public that the matter was corrected and all steps have been taken to prevent re-occurrence”
The Bank once again apologizes to impacted customers, merchants, and our local Banking sector who would have faced reputational damage as a result of this error.

PriceSmart Announces Close Collaboration with the Banks in Trinidad and Tobago to Clarify Issues on Their Payment Processing Platforms

PriceSmart has been informed about some transactions that affected its Members' credit card accounts. This was due to a technical issue in processing, which has affected multiple banks and merchants outside PriceSmart’s control in Trinidad and Tobago.
We understand that in an effort to correct the transactions, cardholders' accounts may have a different amount than was initially charged due to foreign exchange rate fluctuation. The banks are working to rectify the transactions, and PriceSmart continues to collaborate with the banks to ensure our Member’s concerns are addressed.
Despite the fact that it is not an issue related to our business operations or technical capabilities, we will ensure that any Member who has a discrepancy on their account resulting in an overcharge will be reimbursed for the difference in charges.

PriceSmart has issued an alert to prevent you from becoming a scam victim. We have received information about fraudsters offering special promotions when topping up your mobile phone with different cellular phone operators. The purpose of this call is to encourage you to follow the caller's directions by topping up your phone plan with a specific value and calling them back with the payment information to activate your new plan and cell phone that you’ve “won”, along with other promotional prizes including groceries from PriceSmart with unspecified values.
Remember that PriceSmart never runs contests or awards prizes over the phone. If you receive one of these calls, please hang up and block the caller’s number. It is a scam attempt.
PriceSmart takes the protection and security of information very seriously and asks that you also be vigilant to prevent fraud.

Avoid putting stickers on your windows that advertise the brand of your alarm system, as this can give thieves clues on how to disable it. 5. Set your car alarm. If your car has an alarm system, ensure it is activated when leaving it. 6. Park in a well-lit area. When parking at night or in the evening, look for a parking area and space that has good lighting. It will make it easier for you to see, be visible to others, and scare away thieves from targeting your car or you. 7. You can also use a steering wheel lock or a tracking device to make it harder for thieves to steal your car. These tips will help you feel more secure and comfortable visiting our store.
